Competition Details
Name of Competition
Deakin Residential Services Connect and Win Competition 2026 (Competition)
Eligible Entrants
To be eligible to enter the Competition, entrants must be:
a resident of Australia at the time of entering the Competition;
over the age of 16 years; and
be a prospective student at Deakin University (ABN 56 721 584 203), or a parent, legal guardian or other kin of a prospective student.
Ineligible Entrants
Entrants are ineligible to enter the Competition if:
they are not residents of Australia at the time of entering the Competition;
or
an employee of Deakin Residential Services Pty Ltd (ABN 22 145 979 344) or Deakin University or their immediate family members.
or
Are a current resident, residing at one of our Deakin Residential Services properties.
Competition Period
Registration for the Competition opens at 8:00am Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Sunday, 1 February 2026 with entries accepted from this time and closes at 11:59pm AEST on Saturday 31 December 2026 with no further entries accepted after this time.
The number of entries to the Competition is uncapped.
How to Enter
To enter the Competition, eligible entrants must either:
complete and submit an online form via the QR code; or
provide their details on a paper form at a Deakin Residential Services engagement, to be submitted to Deakin Residential Services staff.
Only one Competition entry per eligible entrant is permitted. Duplicate entries may be deemed invalid.
There is no charge to enter the Competition, but eligible entrants will need access to a device, mobile or desktop which has an internet connection if they wish to complete the online form via the QR code.
Selection of Competition Winners
Winners will be randomly selected from valid entries.
A single winner will be randomly drawn on the first Monday of each month starting on Monday, 2 March 2026 at 10:00am AEST at Deakin Residential Services Burwood, Deakin University, 70 Elgar Road, Burwood, VIC, 3125.
The Prizes
There are 11 Prizes in total. The total prize pool for the Competition does not exceed $5,000.
Prizes may consist of one EU Boom Speaker (approx. $229), one Apple Mini Home Pod (approx. $149), one Apple Air Pods 4 (approx $219) (value dependent on retail pricing at time of purchase). As well as Uber Eats Voucher, JB-HiFi voucher, Coles/Woolies voucher, Rebel Sport voucher, Ticketek voucher and VISA Gift Card, all valued at $200.
Notification of Competition Winners
Winners will be contacted by phone or email (on the details provided in the Competition entry form) within five working days of the monthly draw.
The name of each Winner may also be announced on Deakin Residential Services’ official Facebook and Instagram pages within 14 days of the relevant draw.
Delivery of Prizes
Prize delivery will be arranged between Deakin Residential Services and the Winner, considering their location. Prizes will not be shipped outside Australia unless otherwise agreed by Deakin Residential Services, with all associated costs and taxes payable by the Winner.
Terms and Conditions
The Deakin Residential Services Connect and Win Competition 2026 (Competition) is being run by Deakin Residential Services Pty Ltd (ABN 22 145 979 344) (DRS).
The Competition Details (above) and any promotional material for the Competition form part of these Terms and Conditions.
By submitting an entry to the Competition, you agree that they have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
DRS reserves the right to re-draw a new winner if the original winner is not eligible. Winners are ineligible if:
a. at the time of entering the Competition, they are not a resident of Australia;
b. at any time during the Competition Period, they are an employee of DRS or Deakin University (ABN 56 721 584 203) (Deakin) or the immediate family member of an employee of DRS or Deakin; and/or
c. the winner is under the age of 16 years.
In addition, DRS reserves the right to:
a. discard any Competition entry from the Competition; and/or
b. conduct a re-draw,
if it has a reasonable suspicion that any Competition entry is in any way fraudulent or dishonest, including (without limitation) where the original winner has submitted more than one Competition entry or has otherwise engaged in dishonest conduct.
If a Winner does not claim their Prize within 21 days of DRS attempting to notify them, the Winner acknowledges and agrees that they automatically forfeit their Prize, and DRS may conduct a re-draw for that Prize.
Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash or any alternative prize.
In entering the Competition, Winners consent to DRS using their name in promotional material and social media posts. Winners may be requested to participate in a photo opportunity or interview.
DRS accepts no responsibility for:
a. incomplete, late, lost or misdirected Competition entries;
b. any loss of, or damage to, any Prize when in possession of a postal or courier service provider; orc. any accident, loss, injury or damage to any individual or any property arising out of or in connection with the Competition or any Prize.
To the extent permitted by law (except to the extent in which DRS is reckless or negligent) you agree to release and hold DRS harmless from all expenses, costs, liabilities, claims, actions, proceedings, damages, judgments, and losses of any kind whatsoever (including personal injury, death, and property loss or damage) arising out of or in connection with the Competition or any Prize, whether occurring during or after the Competition.
DRS reserves the right, acting reasonably, to cancel, delay or modify the Competition or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time, subject to applicable laws.
All references to ‘$’ is a reference to Australian currency.
The laws in force in the State of Victoria govern these Terms and Conditions and the Competition.
Collection Statement
Deakin Residential Services Pty Ltd (ABN 22 145 979 344) (DRS) acknowledges that the Connect and Win Competition 2026 (Competition) entry form (Form) requires entrants to provide personal information including (without limitation) first and last name, email address, contact phone number. Personal information provided to DRS by entrants will be used for the primary purpose of conducting the Competition; and for the secondary purpose of providing entrants with information about the activities of DRS and studying at Deakin University including (without limitation) marketing communications relating to applications, scholarships and social media content on life at DRS. From time to time, DRS may also invite entrants to participate in surveys. Entrants are not required to provide the personal information requested on the Form; however, if the information is not provided, entrants may not be able to register for the Competition and may not receive information about DRS’s activities. DRS collects, uses, discloses, and manages personal information it holds, including requests by individuals for access to their personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
